Javascript error

whenever i start infinity i get a windows error stating a javascript error occurred in the main process i can click ok and use infinity but it pops up intermittently no matter what game i am using infinity for.
the following is what is in the error message
uncaught exception:
error: error: spawn UNKNOWN
at autoupdater.emiterror
(c:\users\my user name\appdataplocal\infinity\app-3.0.16\resources\electron.asar\browser\api…:24)
at squirrelupdate.download

i have already uninstalled the entire program and reintalled from scratch but it still happens. any help would be greatly appreciated as i love using this application

Run Infinity as admin.

I have no idea how I didn’t think about re checking that. Thank you sorry for missing something so small.

Hi, I just downloaded this and i’m getting the same error. Tried running it as admin but I still get the same message. Also it doesn’t allow me to log in. It says “There was a problem logging you in” however its the same login info im using on the website and it works fine. I even reset the password just to verify i was using the correct login.

Here is a screen shot of the top part of the error message that appears as soon as I launch the program. Wasn’t able to select it to copy and paste.

@frank

If you have any suggestions i could try on my end i’d appreciate it. I’m looking forward to trying out the Astroneer trainer. I tried downloading and reinstalling the client but not joy.

The issue could be some sort of software i’m missing on my pc. its pretty new but i got it from a pc repair store and I’ve had to install numerous programs to get other games or software working. I using windows 10 pro.

Ty for the help.

Infinity has some windows dependencies but they should already be on your system. Frank would know the details.

Reading the error it looks like Infinity has issues connecting to the internet. Adding an exception for infinity in your anti-viruses and making an allow rule for Infinity in the firewall might fix it.

I have had this error message in the past. Closed Infinity and opened again and worked fine.

A few others have also run into this error. Have you tried restarting your computer? That helped a couple times.

Yes I did a restart after I uninstalled infinity and installed it again. Plus I turn it off every night. I also disabled windows defender, turned off my anti virus, and added an exception in my firewall. It didn’t help.

Is there any type of log file or some other info that could help us figure out what’s going on?

Thanks for the help.

I just found the log.

I also have the full error message that pops up now.Sorry for the size. I couldn’t find code tags.

It seems like Infinity can’t access the internet at all (WeMod and Amazon S3). I’m honestly not sure what the issue could be. Maybe somebody else can shed some light?

If it’s not accessing the internet, could it be a server issue on Amazon’s end?

Very doubtful. It can’t access WeMod either. Also, the internet would be burning down if something was wrong with S3.

Could it have anything to do with my java runtime environment? If so I’ll try reinstalling it and see if it has any effect.

Infinity doesn’t use Java, so no. Javascript is actually completely different than Java. Go figure

Do you get a cloudflare prompt when accessing wemod? if so use a vpn and see if that ifxes it

When i access the website everything works fine if thats what you mean. Not quite sure what a cloudflare prompt is so i don’t believe i’m getting one.

I spent some time on google looking for the error message and found a lot of stuff that wasn’t apparently helpful.I’m at a loss.

i don’t suppose there is some alternative way of accessing the trainers? =)

I believe I’ve found the problem. I noticed today that when I tried to open task manager it instantly closed so on the microsoft support forums i found that it appears to be caused by a virus. This virus is also preventing my virus scan/removal programs from updating.

I believe its also the reason infinity is unable to connect. Once I get it removed i believe it will be fixed.

I would recommend malwarebytes.
