I find very frustrating the lack of trainers for GOG games, but i tried something that might just work. Search for the game trainer and add the .exe manually.
So far i’ve tried on Fallout 4 and Metro Exodus normal and Enhanced Edition and they work just fine. I will try to find a few more games to test.
This is probably not new and most people might already be doing this, but it’s new for me and i thought i would share this.
Hello!
Thank you for sharing your tips — they’re certainly useful, and this workaround does help for some, though not all, games. Our help centre and several older community posts also mention it as an option for players to try.
The reason different trainers exist for different store versions is that games often use slightly different codebases or receive updates at different times depending on where they’re purchased. As a general guide:
- Steam and Epic versions are compatible roughly 4 out of 5 times.
- GOG and Steam/Epic versions work together around 2 out of 5 times.
- Xbox versions are never interchangeable with Steam/Epic.
Part of the challenge is that GOG tends to focus on older titles — not always, but often — so by the time a game appears there, most players already own it elsewhere, such as on Steam or Epic, and don’t repurchase it on GOG. This naturally affects demand for GOG-specific trainers.
If a GOG version doesn’t currently have a trainer, do remember to request it in the Wand (formerly WeMod) app. Every request counts.
Have a great weekend.

Thank for sharing that. I honestly wasn’t aware about the compatibility between the different versions, that’s very useful to know.
Have a good weekend!
