only update i ever see is they agree with us that it is needed but they never seem to add the ability to do so. it’s not just deck that people use for gaming on linux now, even desktop gaming rigs are running linux via bazzite and cachyos but no budging from the devs on this

Hey there,

Thank you for your support and feedback, we really appreciate it.

Adding support for Linux isn’t as simple as editing a few lines of code. It would require a major rewrite, and at the moment, it’s not something we have the capacity to take on. We already have many initiatives in progress as we continue improving the app.

While we do want to add Linux support, the majority of gamers are still on Windows (over 93%). We do plan to support Linux in the future, but it will take time, as it spans multiple areas and will require significant portions of the app to be rewritten to work properly on Linux.

As of March 2026, Steam Hardware Survey data shows Linux has hit a record 5.33% market share, growing by 3.10% over the previous month.

i understand it’s not something a few lines of code can change, once upon a time proton versions worked to get it up and running but this is now no longer working. something has changed since wemod 8 to Wand 12 causing this to alienate linux (SteamOS) users.

I came to check for this, my plan got auto renewed but I have moved to linux since last year and haven’t been able to use wand much.

I guess it’s the last year I am a subscriber until they release a Linux version. I defo cancel the renewal this time

Hi all,

I’ve recently managed to get WeMod/Wand working on CachyOS Linux with Steam and Proton, including a couple of tested game examples and some game-specific fixes.

I know quite a few people seem to be struggling with this on Linux/Steam Deck-style setups, so I’ve put together a set of notes and a more complete guide based on what has worked for me so far.

The guide covers things like:

  • Native Steam on CachyOS

  • DeckCheatz wemod-launcher

  • Per-game Steam launch options

  • Downloading the recommended WeMod/Wand prefix

  • Handling the common rundll32.exe prompt

  • Game detection issues

  • Known working examples

  • PRAGMATA-specific REFramework workaround

This is not an official WeMod guide, and I’m not saying it will work for every game, but it may help others avoid some of the trial and error.

If anyone would like a copy of the guide, feel free to contact me at:

joshua_marchant@me.com

If there is enough interest, I’ll look at setting up a GitHub repo so the guide can be shared properly, updated over time, and improved with feedback from others.

As always, I’d strongly recommend using trainers only with single-player/offline games, not multiplayer, anti-cheat, online progression, or live-service modes.
