[/img]Microsoft is set to unveil a slimmed down ‘Xbox One Mini’ in October, according to online rumours.
Details are sketchy, but the pared down version of Microsoft’s games console is expected to be a third of the size and will drop Blu-ray support.

The rumours started from Chinese site WPDang, but have not yet been corroborated by any other sources, leading to suspicion within the gaming community.

Microsoft is already rumoured to be launching a range of new products at a large event scheduled for October. including a second fitness band and new versions its Lumia smartphones and Surface tablets.

I wonder how small it will be

It says about a third of the size. Almost seems impossible unless they do away with the optical drive altogether.

if it’s a third of the size so that would make it a little bigger than a nintendo wii, but xbox one currently uses its current size to provide the best possible cooling at a reduced price so the mini would also end up more expensive because of the extra cooling it would need, so i’ll be taking a “i’ll believe it when i see it” possition as i don’t know if it would even run the current games without overheating.

Imagine the price of it…

Sounds like the rumor is a giant fat lie as the Xbox One games themselves are using blue-ray technology for that 50GB disc space.
