Found the specific cause of my “stuck loading mods” issue — it’s AdGuard for Windows (v8.0.5560.0), not the usual antivirus exclusions people mention.
Running WeMod v12.50.0-beta.0. In AdGuard’s App Management, if the “Filter traffic” toggle is turned on for the game’s .exe specifically, WeMod/Wand can’t inject its mods into that process — loading just fails/hangs. Turning that setting off for the game’s exe (leaving AdGuard enabled otherwise) fixes it immediately.
This is more specific than the usual “add WeMod folders to antivirus exceptions” advice — this is about AdGuard filtering the game’s exe, not WeMod’s own files. Might be worth adding to the pinned troubleshooting thread since AdGuard doesn’t show up in most people’s antivirus exclusion checklists.
Happy to provide logs/more detail if it helps.

Hey @VaexDarastrix,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are already aware of the issue with AdGuard affecting the localhost filter. For now, the best way to avoid any problems is to keep wand whitelisted and the localhost filter toggled off. This should allow everything to work smoothly without any interruptions.
If you continue to experience issues, we recommend contacting AdGuard support directly and informing them about this problem. They may be able to provide a more permanent solution or update their software accordingly.
To disable the localhost filter in AdGuard for Windows, please follow these steps:
-
Open AdGuard for Windows.
-
Click on Settings (the gear icon) and then select General Settings.
-
Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and click on Advanced Settings (or simply Advanced).
-
Find the option labeled Filter localhost.
-
Uncheck or toggle off the Filter localhost setting.
By doing this, you should be able to use the application without any issues related to the localhost filter. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us again at support@wand.com. We are here to help!
