Monitor Static?

Issue arose after I installed a VESA mount on the monitor, once powered on half the screen is static on display port and the whole screen is static on HDMI.

I have tried other cables and the issues persists. It is also not my GPU as my 2nd monitor works fine. I tried using the cable from my 2nd monitor and the static is still there.

I tried using another device on the monitor(Nintendo Switch) and the issue was still there.

I don’t really know what could be causing this issue as it was working fine the night before.

Monitor is Samsung CFG7024

probably have the screws tightened too much. I would try losening the screws a bit, or taking it off the mount all together and see if it still persists

I took it off the mount and the problem is still there.

connect it to other computer/notebook and check if it happens

Still there. Connected to my laptop via HDMI and nothing changed.

i asked my cousin and told me it might be a problem with the power source, try to use the one of the other monitor , if it continues to happen sadly you have to take it to tech support :frowning:

The owners manual for the monitor should specify the max lengh of screws used with a vesa mount. It sounds like the screws you used may have been to long or over tightened and damged the board. You could open it up and inspect it around the vesa mount screw holes.

Unfortunately, if a problem like this shows on multiple known good sources, using multiple different known working cables, that means the monitor is broken.
If it’s under warranty you can try talking to Samsung (even if it’s possible something went wrong when mounting it, just don’t tell them that) otherwise RIP.

Yeah seems like it was my fault lol

But since it was bought from Ebay, it is immediately out of warranty according to the rep I talked to last night, but at least the seller accepted my return request.

damn now the image loaded, painful to see that, but great that the seller acepted the request :sunny:
