Need Help Modding xbox 360 slim

Hi, I have an xbox 360 slim 250gb with Phillips & Lite-on DG-16D4S, FW Ver: 9504. The xbox was already banned from Live when I bought it secondhand for my son, and I would like to mod it to be able to play backup games, either from the hard disk or by burning the games to DVD. I suppose that being able to run the games directly from the hard drive would be better as it would save burning disks ?

I have looked at Jtag and RGH, but am not quite sure if they cover my xbox slim with the lite-on drive just yet.
Can somebody point me in the right direction of what to do to mod it ? and also what additional kit I might need to be able to do it?

If your slim is below the 15574 dash I would recommend RGH’ing it before I’d recommend attempting to flash it as you have a better chance of getting the RGH to work than successfully drilling or cutting your drive

JTAG on a slim 360 would not be possible, but RGH is assuming it is on the correct dash version which you can find in the systems settings. RGH would allow you to play the games from an external HDD (or internal depending on the size) as opposed to burning the games to a disc.

Both flashing and RGH would require an amount of precision as RGH would involve soldering and flashing would possibly involve cutting/drilling. There are some sites where people offer these services if you don’t feel confident enough in your soldering skills, but to look into getting the items needed yourself, Team Xecuter is also the best choice in my opinion. They will also have full length in depth tutorials there on both topics you’re looking into.

I forgot they have PCB’s that are already unlocked. >.<

The xk3y is also a good alternative, I have yet to hear anything bad about it.

Would this allow me to use RGH ?
I already have a way of connecting a SATA drive through USB to my PC, would I need any other hardware ?
Can you recomend a site that will carry out this work in the UK ?

I tried the kamikaze unlock twice and only got it to work. Said screw it and bought an unlocked PCB.

But yea xk3y appears to be a good device if you don’t care about unsigned code and since he is banned he doesn’t have to worry about live updates and what not.

14719 is RGHable. TTG has UK specific sellers/services HERE.

And yes, you would need the TX CoolRunner to and a few other tools to RGH yourself (Including a soldering iron as Chris said.) Which you can get through Team Xecuter.
