If you are stuck unable to research after the first boss, try to enter another run and abandon it, then talk to the soldier and you will be able to build a research station.

Resource multiplier does not shows up but is always active when you turn on the trainer

Can the unlimited resources exclude recipes and equipment(the accessories)? Those are causing problems.
