[PC]Borderlands 2 save editing

Basically, me and my friend got bored and decided to mod the **** out of a new save and join some guys game, We couldn’t find any methods of how to mod it yet, so we fired up cheat engine to see what we could do, this is the outcome.

Pretty simple, too.
You need Cheat Engine and the Cheat Engine File (Updated to the one Skylar posted)
when you’ve installed cheat engine, just double click the .ct file and cheat engine will open, with a list of things you can edit at the bottom.
Launch borderlands, start your single player game, minimize it (or enable window mode (Alt+Enter)) and go back to cheat engine and hit the flashing icon at the top left corner.

Should have something like this

Double click Borderlands2.exe, click “yes” when it asks you if you want to keep the current tables.
click what you want to edit at the bottom and hit enter, edit to what you like, press Okay and head back to the game, you’re done.

Would this be at all possible with an Xbox save? Kind of like how you can with skyrim?

Unless someone comes out with a way to convert PC save to xbox, then I doubt it. Someone will probably come out with an xbox editor soon anyway

The saves as far as we know, do not have cross platform compatibility like Borderlands 1 does.

You can mod your skill points too so you can have something like 999/5 on a skill. It does account for the extra skill points so you can have stuff like 35000% movement speed, but I don’t think it’ll go after the default value (Whatever 5/5 is)

This looks cool I will give this a go but one question.

Do you keep your current character and your item’s?

if you just want to mess around, Make a new save for it. if you really dont want to add any sort of advantage to your regular/legit save, I suggest not messing around with badass tokens, they stay the same for every save.

Alright thanks, also thanks for the share and hard work

Very nice thanks for the release! There’s only 1 problem. I’m unfamiliar with Cheat Engine. I did exactly what you said but it didn’t work. I clicked the tick box and hit enter and typed in what I wanted to edit… but it didn’t give me anything or change anything. I tried it for Money, and Eridium, and Inventory non worked…
What am I doing wrong?

Looks familiar to this
Cheat Engine :: View topic - Borderlands 2

If you guys are having problems, try the steam version in the 2nd post on that

Can somebody give me a tutorial here’s an example of what I’m doing that isn’t working:
1.) Opening borderlands2.exe in cheat engine
2.) Opening the .ct file
3.) Ticking Eridium
4.) Clicking enter on Eridium
5.) Setting it to my desired amount

Is this what I’m supposed to be doing? Because it isn’t working this way

Okay this doesn’t work. If you use it you’ll just edit, nothing will happen, and soon your game will crash

-Accidental double post-

This table works fine for me: Cheat Engine ::

I wasn’t familiar with cheat engine as well but I got it to work. After changing the values, I just used the save icon and exited out of the program. Maximized my game and everything was there. Great share, lack of backpack space was a major hindrance.

I suggest not messing around with badass tokens, they stay the same for every save.

are you in game(not at the main menu, actually in your game, and single player) when you do it? Also, you don’t tick any boxes, all you do is open borderlands2.exe, hit enter on what you’d like to edit at the bottom and set the value.
I had some problems getting XP working with the gunzerker, though.

Nicely done really want to mod this game but kinda want to enjoy it properly first.

I agree, Main reason we done this was cause we were just gonna troll one of our friends on multiplayer, also cause my save corrupted and I wanted some stats back. Pretty crap, though.

If I use cheat engine in Borderlands 2, can I get banned from Steam? Sorry if this was already asked :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay I got it working! Thanks for this awesome release! It works now. Also do you have a working key hack?
