I got two Etheric Light now and despite the fact I really want to reach Level 34 still, I have no idea what to do with them!? I’m pretty happy just getting the Armour Cores each week. I want to save one for a Gjallarhorn but I’m not sure what to do with the other one. Here is my weapon list, offer your suggestions…
Honestly, it’s all personal preference…you level up whatever you feel will give you an advantage over the competition.
In the beginning I, unlike most within the community, ascended the gear that I had been wearing for the longest of time; the Crota’s End gear. It may be unimportant, but I did so because I like the way it looks on the Hunter class and knew my Intellect/Discipline would both exceed the 271x mark so both categories would be at 100%. Next, I then ascended all the weapons that I felt were my go-to weapons. (ex: Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence, Ice Breaker, Gjallarhorn, etc.) After my initial investing of my Etheric Light I took it slow and only leveled stuff if I needed to burn some glimmer or such. (Every Exotic, Vault of Glass, and Crota’s End weapon is at 365x while I still have some Etheric Light waiting for my Titan to consume!)
Again, it’s all personal preference and only you can decide what is worthy of ascending, but don’t hold off on spending them because there are some things that need to be completed to acquire that Bungie anniversary emblem come this September. (ex: Defeat Skolas in the Prison of Elders; can be completed as a Lvl. 33, but is some what difficult when two levels behind the enemy)

We so gotta do Skolas bro! I do think I can take it doing it with Random players, it will get frustrating for both myself and the other players being a Lvl 33.
If you haven’t done Skolas yet and you’re planning on doing it at level 33, you’re going to get your fudge packed.
Without a doubt! I’m either gonna get “back-packed” or have wait another week or two for some more Armor Cores.
How many characters do you have? What classes? What levels?
You should be doing your 34 PoE’s every week on all three characters for etheric light. Hit max level first, then prioritize weapons last. You will do more damage with a 331 weapon at level 34 than you will with a 365 weapon at 32-33.
I would be ascending old gear rather than buying the garbage that Variks sells. The only gear worth buying from him are the ones with boosts in fallen rounds (Skolas), and high intellect/discipline stats.
Also, I saw you mention you were saving etheric light for a gjally. You don’t use etheric light on exotic tier gear. You use exotic shards to ascend those, so don’t hold back on spending the etheric light. After a few weeks you’ll have a surplus that you don’t know what to do with.
Of course, it’s an Exotic!?! I forgot about that 
Thanks for the advice, I will consider putting the Etheric Light in better places for my situation. I only have a Titan, I can not be bothered to start again with the other classes. I know it can potentially increase my chances of better gear and speed up the process but for now I’m just trying to max out my Titan first.
You could always make a 2nd or 3rd titan, get them each to level 20 and then just switch your gear to the alts and run multiple PoE’s, NF’s, Raids, etc. It’s a lot more efficient than trying to burn through on one character.
