I am new to posting forums here so please forgive me for not getting it right with what I am posting and please point me in the right direction to do it the right way, especially with what I am talking about here and requesting from the Wand/WeMod Team.
This also contains a rant but trust me there is a very good reason for this so please read through the whole thing to understand my points and the request I want for these games to have cheats with Wand/WeMod.
There are two independent video games called Frebbventure and its sequel, Frebbventure Alliance which came out about two days ago by the time this post was made. While I think they are good, they can be extremely hard to the point of frustration and be extremely unfair to the point it would put off even the most skilled player and players in general who are not very good at very hard games. Most bosses especially are way too hard to be enjoyable. They are the types of bosses where you keep dying over and over again which is not fun. Their patterns are very unpredictable, they attack way too quickly and move too fast for you to be able to get a good hit on them or react. When it’s finally over and you do beat them, it’s just a sigh of relief and you never want to play them again. I have tried my hardest for a very long time to try and time their attack patterns and movement but I never get it right and just barely beat them with just an inch of health left.
While I am not terrible at hard games and I do enjoy a good challenge, I do not like playing them though as I like playing games at a relaxed pace or I have more than enough time to react. Now I know what some of you are going to ask, then why are you playing them if they are so hard? It’s because I really enjoy Frebbventure’s characters, stories, world building and lore. That’s why and very few people have posted proper gameplay footage of the entirety of both games on YouTube, with one let’s play not even bothering with completing the necessary 20 challenges for the first four worlds in order to unlock the fifth and final one. I really wish that these challenges were just collectibles because the amount of challenges there are in each world is higher than 20. But like I said you only need to beat 20 of them and not all of them. Some challenges require you to collect a certain number of gems which just makes me wonder why they weren’t when they could have been just that. A lot of challenges are also just arbitrary and innocuous such as beating the level within a certain amount of time which is okay but then you have ones where you cannot kill a single enemy or you can’t get hit once or three times which even some boss fights had.
While there is a Casual difficulty in the sequel, there is not one in the first game and for some reason the developer decided that you cannot obtain or even find Dark Crystals and gain money to buy new abilities for characters. You only get money through beating levels on a certain rank and even then you cannot die once in the level because your bonus will decrease rapidly. This is very different from how it was in the demo where you only needed to obtain scrap in order to buy something and they are very abundant in all levels.
Now for the Dark Crystals, you need to find all of them in order to unlock Epilogue Mode which I assume is the final world in the game. So yeah, the developer got rid of challenges and instead just had collectibles which just make some wonder why he couldn’t have just done that for the first game. I really hate it when games like this does this stuff, especially when I just want to experience the game for its story.
I should also mention that despite being called Casual Mode, it is still extremely hard to the point of off-putting, completely defeating the whole purpose of a Casual Mode! At least boss fight levels do not have Dark Crystals but many regular levels also have bosses in them, usually appearing in the middle of the stage and some levels even have multiple bosses in them. The can also be frustratingly hard and unfair a lot of the time. At least you get checkpoints before you fight them though.
I should also mention that at least one level, no matter the difficulty you play on, gives you 10 Dark Crystals but that is mainly done for story purposes and since I still got them in Casual Mode, it just makes me wonder just what was the point of the developer forcing the player to only be able to get them on higher difficulties. At least you can switch between difficulties on the fly without needing to start a new save file but still this is stupid and unfair for lower skilled players.
Along with that, certain abilities just have really stupid and just unnecessary restrictions and downsides to them for the sake of balancing when it really just artificially keeps the game hard and I almost never use certain abilities because of their stipulations. I hate it when games do that because what is the point of having the ability if you are just going to have something that discourages players from using them? On top of that, very few of them are really interesting and can be hard to pull off properly without you taking damage.
So, with everything said, my rant is over. I hopefully got my point across and I hope that everyone understands what the issue is and the absolute need for these games to get cheats in Wand/WeMod.
Again, I made this post in the hopes of requesting the Wand/WeMod Team to give these games cheats, specifically, unlimited health, get rid of that stupid restriction where you cannot get the Dark Crystals on Casual Mode, increase you attack power against bosses and enemies to one hit or at least make it so you can kill them quicker than it is in the base games and maybe regenerating health, especially for Frebbventure Alliance because for some reason the developer decided to get rid of health items for the sequel and instead opted with regenerating your health when reaching a checkpoint. It also just makes more, at least for the title character and avoid this if you want to avoid spoilers, he has regenerative abilities in the story but not the gameplay for some reason. The developer could have at least given an ability to do just that but no, he didn’t.
I know I said that was the end of the rant but I cannot find any other better place to put that last bit.
Once again, please Wand/WeMod Team, I implore you to give these games cheats with your app.
