Nope. Nothing.
After repeated attempts, checks, cleans and “fixes” posted around the internet…Wemod Setup still will not run what-so-ever. Anything short of re-installing Windows appears to do ■■■■-all and I have no intention of wasting my time doing that for some trainers.
At this point I’d rather just cancel my pro membership seeing as I have neither the interest nor intention of paying for a service I can’t use, let alone even install.
So anyone got any other ideas on how to sort this flustercluck out that doesn’t include re-installing Windows?
Can you provide more information or provide a video? Everything in your log points toward Discord causing issues with it.
I don’t know what more information I can provide. Not certain video would matter and I don’t have software to make one (never have made videos of any kind).
The “Wemod Setup” downloaded from the official site does nothing when trying to run it.

That is a good question, friend. But your error log clearly does point to Discord getting involved somehow, which it shouldn’t be doing:

What exactly am I supposed to be recording and how would a recording of nothing happening (even cursor change) when I double click the Wemod Setup file help? The 8.13.7 “offline installer” starts, but gives me the error log I copied further up. Nothing else happens.

From what I can see, for some reason your PC is installing WeMod into Discord’s directory.
I have just re-installed WeMod on my other computer (which also has Discord) and I’m not having the same issue as you. Nor have any of the other hundreds of thousands of current WeModders reported having this issue. Both of these points tell me personally that this is a user-sided issue, to be honest with you.
May I recommend downloading the free version of CCleaner and using it to clean your Windows Registry, then try again afterwards?

And have you installed any additional drives on your machine at any point? Search on your machine to see if you have more than one AppData folder (ie, one on C:/ & one on D:/ for example). If so, take a look here: https://www.tenforums.com/general-support/192180-appdata-folder-wrong-drive
I own a pro version of CCleaner and I do registry cleans weekly. There’s only one AppData folder and it’s on the C:/ drive. How is it a user-side issue when the software tries to install itself into an entirely unrelated other software’s folder?
Here’s one who had Wemod trying to install into Discord folder. Difference between him and me is uninstalling Discord and cleaning out its files does nothing except no “printing” any logs when using the 8.13.7 installer and it errors out.

I have no idea what the issue is but everything points toward discord. Unzip this and place the folder in appdata local then run the exe.

I didn’t send a setup though. I sent the unpacked version which is what the installer installs.
I unpacked the file and put the folder where you told me. Tried running the setups, got nothing.
Tried running the executable from your folder and I got this. Clicked more info, got the “Why WeMod was flagged” page and followed the instructions about whitelisting/excluding the two installation folders in the antivirus.
That is expected. Unfortunately, if you are still having issues I’m not sure what else to suggest as it seems to be something on your PC interfering with the app.
May be. Oh well. I’ll give it a try next time I do a re-install of Windows I guess and keep my subscription cancelled until then. Though if the problem still persists at that point in time after a re-install…I’ll stand firm on it being the WeMod software being the issue.
Guess we’ll see down the line.

Spent last night doing a re-install of Windows…
Fair to say I’m slightly annoyed that it had to come to that considering the work into making backups, downloading installers for the various softwares I frequently use to have them ready and re-download all the games I were playing on a fairly slow internet speed (this is the one that projects the highest amount of urine into my cereal).
First thing to be installed was WeMod. Good thing for me and WeMod…no issues. I still find it suspicious that over the course of a few years running both Discord and WeMod without ever experiencing the slightest problem that WeMod would not install what-so-ever and appeared to try and install itself into a directory related to a completely UNrelated program like Discord.
I hope this is something that will be looked into at some level considering it appears from links above that I weren’t the only one with similar issues.
So it appears to be good for now, though be warned. I do not intend to go through this hassle again, so should this particular problem re-surface down the road in a similar manner…I’ll be dropping WeMod as a bad habit and stick exclusively to your competitor.
