Skyrim multiplayer mod released! Alpha!

It’s called skyrim online and it’s for pc only.

new mod that will allow you to play the mighty Skyrim online with friends the other day. It wasn’t expected to be ready for download for a while, which is still technically true but the developers have released the beta for you to try if you wish. At the moment you only see other players as naked prisoners and with no animation but you can chat with them and there’s even an added Arena where you can fight waves of creeps together.

I’ve no idea how it all works, whether you see anyone or just friends or if they can fully help you on quests, there’s not much news on that but it is still a very early beta so you’ve got to give them time. If you want to try it out, head over the skyrimnexus.com and download it. If you do try it, let us know how it plays and what you can and can’t do.

What you can do now:

  • Talk to players
  • See other players

Planned:

Installation :

  1. Back up your config files, this mod will rewrite them !!!
  2. Unrar the file in your Skyrim root folder.
  3. Create a shortcut for SkyrimOnline.exe on your desktop

Usage :

  • Start SkyrimOnline.exe, it will automatically update the mod and then allow you to start the game with the mod.
  • When you enter the game, you will be prompted for a username, enter whatever username you feel like using there is no authentication yet.
  • To switch between UI mode and Game mode press F3.
  • Numpad 7 8 9 are used for the arena, try them out.

Ok this website is based around the xbox console. I gurantee almost everyone on this site has an xbox. So you are telling everyone to GTFO because they don’t have an awesome PC to run Skyrim. The thread title made it obvious it would only work for PC. Don’t see a need for that comment.

Why wasn’t this for console?!?!?!

There have been numerous time my friends and I have talked about how great it would be to share items, help each other on quests, and basically be better a better follower who not only knows what they are doing but won’t give our position away when sneaking through a cave.

if this was for console the chances are you’d need a jtag or some other modded console in order to actually use it, but a jtag cant go online so that’d be completely useless.

Ya…I realize that I was just venting in a sense. Ever since I saw the dev diary saying it would “ruin” the feel of the game I guess I have been a little sour about the whole thing.
But oh well schtick happens and i’m installing it right now to try it out:thumbsup:

It could be better but it is amazing none the less. Although bathesda could have made a trading system similar to Runescape’s Grand Exchange.

Anyways, pretty cool, hopefully some buddies of mine over at the 360iso might be able to port this.

Macs were never made to play games. They are made for work, study, virus protection (mainly because no one cares to make viruses for macs)
