Has anyone tried making a mod where you are a Snow Elf? I know its highly possible to make one, I mean x Elysian x and Team Dremora made a Dremora save so like I said i figure its possible.
I don’t think you can make your race a snow elf. They aren’t actually in the game (At least not yet), just stories of them.
Edit: Didn’t know they were in dawnguard.

The Snow Elf Race ID is 0200377D, the 02 might vary though.
What you should do is:
showracemenu
then change the race to dark elf, the reason I say Dark Elf is so the facial structure is similar
player.setrace SnowElfRace
not sure if the game will crash from trying to load Dawnguard textures, but it is worth a shot.
I say, just wait for the 30 days to end. Just another 3 weeks.
Once the DLC is out you can just make a PC mod that allows the Snow Elves to be a playable race and then use ‘showracemenu’ so you can edit your character.
Put your save back on your USB and load the game (obviously it will say it is missing content, but that wouldn’t matter)

Another option is to swap out ALL the textures (around 2000) with files that exist in Skyrim PC already, but use the names for the Dawnguard textures, and also convert the XMA files to WMA. I am actually trying to do this, and it is a pain in the ass.
If someone can find either a DDX to DDS file converter (I googled, found nothing) or a mass file rename that uses the names of files from a folder to name the files of a different folder, then that would make getting Dawnguard working on the PC so much easier.
No. Your character will turn purple with nothing on and will not have a head. Already tried it. What I want to know is can you not edit the character but edit where it says what race it is.
It would be possible to do it in a way. It probably currently possible because Dawnguard isn’t available to PC without it crashing. But once it is would be possible.
P.S I was playing as a Dremora long before that save was released.
Obviously once it’s available it’ll be possible. It doesn’t crash when you do it. It just looks ****ed up. But I’m gonna try it one more time cause I just though of something.

Download this, extract the texture folder, and then drop it in the Skyrim PC data folder.
If this works then you should be able to use setrace and then change it to snowelf and proceed to showracemenu to edit the character.
It MIGHT work, this should replace the textures of the show elf with other textures in the game. When your save gets back on the the Xbox, it would load the normal textures.
Reason I am not trying it is because I don’t want to see what they look like until I actually get to that part in my game. I used the texture names from the beta version so there could be more or they could have a different name.
Now going to try for you. I’ll report back in a minute.

Just realized I think I gave the wrong file in the ’ extures\actors\character\female’ I should have used a different one instead of ‘astridhead_msn’ and either way, it should have been renamed to ‘femaleheadvampire’
male should be set up correctly though
Didn’t crash which was great it set the race, but once loaded on Xbox 360 the body colour matches the snow elf but the face skin colour doesn’t. But I may have a way to fix that. You are roughly 80% done it.
Now seeing if I can fix the problem. Also don’t use the showplayerrace because it messes it up.

That’s great, so now I just need to finish the rest of the texture files from Dawnguard, with some exceptions as there are a lot.

Edit - Is there a console command for resetting the races default settings?
Edit 2 - I have an idea. 
There was a PC mod which added Deadra to the Race Menu, do you think you could add the Snow Elf to the Race Menu?

Edit 4 - The xbox 360 detects it as High Elf which would give reason for the skin colour on the face.
maybe we remove the textures after changing the race to snow elf then change it to snow elf again so it loads the dawnguard textures

I am not sure if there is a command to reset a races settings. I think I could add a Snow Elf as an option, but I might need to download the updated version of Dawnguard and try through there as the creation kit won’t allow me to run it while opening Dawnguard.
Maybe with some tweaks, the snow elf might show the correct tone. I will mess with it some more.
