Sound issues when using WeMod with Focusrite

Hello and welcome back to the community.

Sorry to hear that you are having a sound issue.

Game

Are there any specific games that are having this issue?

As far as I am aware throughout my years here, I have only ever heard of sound issues in one game when using WeMod, and that’s the very recently released game of Starfield. The fix for the sound issue in Starfield is to launch the game before launching WeMod. Try that.

Hardware

I do not own any audio devices from this brand. However, I am aware that this brand is actually well-known for being related to choppy, broken, or laggy audio in their second and third generation devices. External examples below.

Those links contain a few suggestions from others who use those devices. The company’s own website also offers some advice to try: https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/207355205-Optimising-Windows-10-for-Audio.

My guess, as someone unable to test this theory, is that your audio goes weird due to buffer size issues when a (muted by default) advert shows up in the WeMod software, to help free users to cover the costs of WeMod’s expensive development.

Another thing to consider is that USB devices in general, not limited to just audio devices nor to any particular brand, are known for having latency issues compared to native or built-in hardware. Check that you aren’t using a low-powered USB port - USB 2.0 will of course be slower at transferring data from the computer to the device (and vice versa) than USB 3.0, for example. Consult your machine’s technical handbook online if unsure which speed each of your USB ports are.

Take a look at some of the links, hopefully there’s something helpful there.
Have a great weekend in the meantime!
