My system did an upgrade to Windows 11 and after about month, Wemod opens a transparent empty window. attempted deleting, folders, shutting down firewall etc (as in previous posts) however always results in the exact same issue. any advice?

Sorry to hear you’re having this unusual and unique issue.
First of all, let’s make sure it’s not due to your computer’s settings:
- Open the Start menu.
- Go to Settings.
- Click “Accessibility” on the left side of the settings window.
- Select “Visual Effects”.
- Disable the “Transparency Effects” option.
Restart your computer to ensure the new setting change applies correctly.
Still no change, or this setting was already off?
- Open WeMod.
- Open the settings by clicking the cog wheel in the top right.
- Go to accessibility.
- Turn off the “Use Windows Contrast Theme”.
If this changes the look of the WeMod software so that it can be seen properly, then the issue lies with the contrast colour theme you have set up on your PC. You can either alter your Windows theme or keep this setting off permanently.
Still no?

Make sure you have at the very minimum, .NET Framework version 4.7 (Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 offline installer for Windows - Microsoft Support).
Though we recommend the latest version, 4.8 (Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 offline installer for Windows - Microsoft Support).
If it tells you it is already installed, re-install it anyway, in case it has gotten corrupted. -
If you use Nvidia, there could be a setting conflict. To test this:
(a) Make sure WeMod is fully closed, including from the system tray.
(b) Create a shortcut for WeMod on your desktop.
(c) Right-click the shortcut, select Properties.
(d) Add the following onto the end of the “target” field under the Shortcut tab:
--disable-gpu
So that it looks like this:
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\WeMod\WeMod.exe --disable-gpu
Then try launching from this shortcut. -
Check your GPU driver for an update. But do so on the GPU maker’s official website. Windows’ built-in “Check For Updates” tool is useless and misses new updates frequently.
Let us know how it goes and have an awesome weekend! ![]()
Thanks, sadly same problem. Framework is 4.8, gpu test didn’t work, however ensure updated dirvers. Accessible was not checked. couldn’t get to the screen for wemod to try to adjust, as I just have a clear box where the program should be running. Of note the program seems to be running as it shows up in monitor activity.
Hello and thank you for your reply. ![]()
Shame that it hasn’t been resolved still.
I’ll ask the other support staff if they have any other ideas for possible solutions.
Another avenue you can try is asking Microsoft Support, as this does seem to be an error with Windows 11 itself. Other people have reported it happening to them with various different programs, for example: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/opened-windows-are-transparent/f9120d74-ac8b-442d-8fcd-72bb9cf404f6. Try the steps the Microsoft rep shared in that thread too in the meantime ![]()
