Wemod app was logged onto a different account

Yesterday on September 1, the Wemod app would not load. Today, when I opened it, I was on as a different user. I switched accounts to my account, and I see that I went from having over 2k coins, to down to 350. So was someone on my account also and decided to spend all my coins? Will I be able to get my coins back? And what other information did they have access to and change?

The account you are on now has never had more than 350 points and they were all earned the day the account was created. If you had more than 2k WePoints on an account it was not this one.

I’m going to have to disagree. My account I am on now, OddlySatisfying, had a little over 2k coins. The yellow ones, not the pink ones. I did almost all the objectives to earn the coins, I play daily using the wemod app to earn coins… The objectives that I had done are still gone, so I can not re-do them to earn the coins back. I’m not angry about this, just irritated. If I can’t get the coins back, it’s not the end of the world, but I would have peace of mind if I knew there wasn’t a stranger who had access to my account, and as to why almost all my coins are now gone. I’m still going to continue using Wemod, but if my accumulated coins are going to disappear at times, I may not use it as often.

The only IP to ever login to your account is you. You’ve completed 3 objectives on this account, there is another account under your IP with 2.1k points but you never finished registration on it so you will not be able login again.

Okay, do you know what account that is? I’ve only played on this on that I made originally. And I’ve gotten a verification email back on July 20th and I know I verified it multiple times because that was one of the objectives I was unable to finish. I understand if there are are bugs that need to be fixed, and patches and updates. Again, I’m not mad, just trying to understand. You say I will be unable to login again, but I am logged in now?

I’ve seen a few other topics like this in the community, and appreciate you taking the time to explain this to me. I don’t want you to think I’m coming off as a pissed off “Karen”, I’m just a bit confused.

Thank you,

You did not finish registration on the other account. If you send us an email we can link it to an email so you can log in to it.

Thank you Chris, I will email my email address.

I just signed up on the WeMod website today, then downloaded the PC app. What I found was something similar happening. EVERY time you open the app you must go to the drop-down arrow in the top right corner of the dashboard, then “Switch User” and log into your official account. Otherwise it will just generate a randomized UNREGISTERED guest account and you’ll be playing on that instead of your official one.

“OddlySatisfying” I think this is what was happening to you, after your first login you just assumed it would automatically use the same account every time you ran the app, so you didn’t notice it was logging you in as a random NEW guest account instead. Gotta make sure in the top right corner of your dashboard that it actually says that YOU are logged in, not some “randomseed 5569” garbage account.

Chris, this might be something for the developer team to look into fixing: either do away with the unregistered guest accounts and force people to login with official accounts before the app will allow us to use it at all, or else add in a “remember my login” button so we only have to login once on our home computers / consoles. It just really is not obvious enough from that tiny section in the top right corner of the app that we are not logged in as our official account; too easy to forget and miss that step.

If you are being signed out every time then you have something clearing the cache. WeMod is a webpage. I’ve been signed into my account for over 2 years.
