WeMod stuck on endless loading screen

WeMod is stuck on endless loop.
Windows 10 is up to date.
Not using Comcast or xFi.
No other antivirus than Windows Defender.
No VPN active or open.
Added WeMod as an exception before opening.
Tried opening as Admin.
Tried to reinstall and delete ALL WeMod files with IObit Uninstaller and CCleaner (even from Local and Roaming)
Uninstalled, deleted all files and restarted, added as exception before start (opened as Admin). Tried with older version of WeMod and Direct link to download.
Browsed all other topics and tried the methods listed there.
Closed from Task Manager and opened as Admin.
WeMod site opens fine. Nothing is blocking that.

Ctrl + Shift + D and opening Console gives endless loop of errors.

Failed to load resource: net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
DevTools failed to parse SourceMap (two different errors, two different locations)
WebSocket connection to “XXX” failed: Error in connection establishment: net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
POST “XXX” net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

Welcome to the community. :slight_smile:

This error message means that your connection to WeMod’s servers is being blocked, for some reason. This could be due to:

  • A firewall blocking the connection. Especially if you are using a school, college or university internet connection. China’s national firewall also poses a problem for some people. If you are at an educational institution, a public place (ie an internet café), or trying to access WeMod from China, you may need to use a VPN.

  • There might be a small hiccup in your router’s DNS. This is easily fixed by turning off your router for 30 seconds and then turning it on again.

  • A full or clogged browsing cache can also cause issues. You mentioned using CCleaner - use it again to clear all browsing data from your machine. Note this will log you out of all your active web logins.

  • Similarly, a full, clogged or corrupted DNS cache can also cause issues.
    To clear this:

    1. Launch Command Prompt as Administrator
    2. Type ipconfig /flushdns
    3. Press Enter

  • Malware can also prevent programs from launching correctly. Perform a scan of your PC. Preferably with MalwareBytes, as virus scans tend to miss a lot of malware.

  • Disable all of your security programs and then try launching the software. This will help to see if the issue is being caused by one of your security programs or not.

Ah, found the problem. It was our own network-wide ad blocker from Pi-hole and a Raspberry Pi. Thank you for helping!

Good to hear that the issue has been resolved. :slight_smile:
