It is soooo frustrating, to repeatedly buy a game on GOG, download the WeMod mod for that game, only to find that it only supports Steam, so I end up having to buy the game twice, or give up on WeMod … why is this such a problem??
My current game frustration is Balrum… grrrr…
For the few GOG games I own, that Wand hasn’t done a trainer for but has one for Stream, I’ve had 100% success by manually adding the exe to Wand - it basically tells Wand that “hey this exe here is the game” and may work for you.
There’s no guarantee, but it’s worth a shot.

That is so cool!! Thank you for this hint…
It doesn’t quite work for Balrum; Wand is saying that the mod has been discontinued because it doesn’t work with recent versions of the game… but I’ll keep this note for future reference!!
Thank you again!
Hey @Gorlash! Thanks for bringing this up, it’s a valid frustration and actually one of the exact reasons we’ve been working on a solution.
We recently transitioned to a new system called Pulse, which is designed to address platform coverage gaps like this one. You can find more information about it here: Pulse: Earn Boosts, Vote on What We Build Next - Wand News
Since the majority of players purchase through Steam, our customizations are primarily built around Steam versions first due to demand but Pulse is our step toward broader platform support over time. If you don’t see your platform listed for a game you’re interested in boosting, feel free to reach out to us through support@wand.com and we’ll do our best to help get it listed.
In the meantime, we’d also recommend browsing the app before purchasing a game elsewhere, just to confirm whether your specific version is supported saves the double-purchase headache entirely!

Hi @Patrick ; thank you for all this feedback. When I’m just searching for a game that I’ve read about somewhere, I will check WeMod before buying, to decide where to buy…
However… what often happens is that I’ll get an email from GOG, letting me know about a discount on a game - often a significant discount, and often not available on Steam. In that case, I have the choice of buying on GOG and hoping that some hack will work, or not buying at all (since the sale price is why I’m looking at the game in that case). I am definitely going to @Kazadora’s trick in the future, and hopefully that will let me play. I will also contact you as you recommend, and see what options you might provide…

Also an added suggestion. I’m sure some of your developers are aware of this but Epic games offer free games every Thursday. Some weeks are great, others are just plain suck!! This may cause a small surge in people clamoring for Epic versions trainers if not available at all. Even those who use Amazon Prime, get monthly freebies, for example Fort Solis. No trainer is available because it was offered through GOG, the Steam version didn’t work for the game.
Currently dont see the point of it, already been waiting for 2 weeks on a game for game pass version which has a trainer version for steam, its sitting in 5th place, for you guys it would take 3mins to change the .exe file name for it to search
