Why Not Take Trainer Requests Via Forums?

Apparently, trainers are ONLY made based on game popularity, not forum suggestions

Honestly, that doesn’t seem like a very great system for trainer creation, some games from years ago could use a trainer but won’t, possibly ever, get one because the game isn’t popular anymore

Because trainer requests via forums is an incredibly disorganised system that doesn’t accurately show how many active users currently play the game.
Plus staff costs - human workers are needed to sort through forum requests and they’re not free.

Before you say”forum polls” - no. Their accuracy is laughably bad thanks to the existence of VPNs. And the ease of changing mobile data IPs simply by turning on airplane mode for 10 seconds then turning it off again. Polls should never be used for anything other than non-serious or joke posts.

@MrAntiFun used a forum system for years himself, before he joined WeMod, and said so himself in his own community that it is a terrible system that just doesn’t work.

The way the trainer development system works means it is democratic and fairer to the majority, so trainers with millions of active players get made as a priority, instead of trainers for games that have maybe two or three people. It is uneconomical making trainers for games that barely have any active players here. Trainer developers and servers are not free either.

Sorry if a game you play isn’t in the queue yet. There’s nothing WeMod can do about the popularity of individual games or the lack of people knowing said game exists, that’s down the the game developer’s marketing team, not us.

Well, you could make a dedicated thread for suggestions instead of a forum

And just because it’s popular, doesn’t mean it’s good. Just look at Fortnite for example, it’s bad and brought nothing new, yet it’s popular (Somehow), whereas The Blackout Club IS good, but not popular enough to qualify for a trainer on WeMod

So yeah, there are ways to stay organized when it comes to suggestions for even cheats

Try out a dedicated thread, it may reduce the workload

It may be fairer to the majority, but the minority are left in the dust, chances are none of us know how to code a single cheat. Try balancing it out, not only make trainers for popular games, but lesser ones (Just, make sure they’re actually good)

Developers and servers aren’t free, obviously, maybe set up some place people could donate, you have MILLIONS of users, I’m sure some are willing to spend a dollar or two to support

You need a forum to make threads.

This is personal opinion, not fact. Everybody has different tastes.

Recent reviews say the player-base is diminished and that the developers have abandoned it to move on to new projects. Also it appears to be a server-sided co-op game, which means it’ll never have a trainer, since trainers are only for client-sided games.

As said before, trainer suggestions via the forums is a messy, disorganised and terrible system. We’ve tried it before, MrAntiFun has tried it before. It never worked. Plus not all members of WeMod use the forum, at an educated guess I’d say only around 10% of WeMod members visit the forum, and when they do its to get help with issues. So in fact you’d find yourself waiting even longer for trainers since the amount of people showing interest in them will be incredibly low compared to the current automatic system.

Also you seem to have ignored my point that one person can unfairly affect the balance of such a system by using multiple IPs via a VPN. One person could add, say, 50 votes or whatever to one forum suggestion just by pressing a button to change their IP through a VPN service. Whereas this is not possible to do with the current automated system we have.

This is how democracy has worked since it was invented 2,527 years ago in 507 BC by the people of Athens in Greece. There’s nothing we can do about that, except to respect the wishes of the majority, just as it has worked since those ancient times. All the adults here have voted for things in politics and didn’t get it because we were out-voted by a majority, that’s life.

We have Pro subscriptions. It’s a form of donating while receiving benefits in return to say thank you.

Sorry that you disagree, but I have been getting paid to be managing gaming communities for over a decade now (not here at WeMod, where I’m just a simple humble moderator in my free time). Forums do not work for gathering intel and suggestions. The best systems for such things are automated and built into the software itself, because that gives everyone the chance to be heard, whereas a forum will only provide a platform for a very small number of people.

Forums are great for discussions and support. Terrible for information collecting. As much as I hate to say it, forums are a dying form of communication these days.

Have a great day!

Everyone can already request trainers by following them in WeMod by clicking “Notify Me”. Having posts on the forums to request games really would just create clutter and be a huge waste of time for whoever gets to go through them (me). Trainers are created based on what our users want, we don’t just select games at random.

Obviously I meant make a thread IN the forum and delete any threads solely requesting a thread

“Good or bad” has nothing to do with opinions

So the player-base is diminished but people still play it, developers abandoning their game to move onto other projects doesn’t immediately diminish how popular the game is, and you don’t create cheats for TBC but you also have cheats for GTFO, where you basically need other players because you’d die before you finish the first security check, they LITERALLY made the game much harder because so many people were doing it solo as a challenge when that’s not the point

I just said how they CAN be organized

Exactly how many people would be doing that? What does 50 fake votes on one game have against a million of non-manipulated votes? And who said you needed a poll system instead of requests by word?

So, you only care about what the majority has to say? Is that what you’re saying?

Not worth it, all you get are cosmetics, more control over cheats, a mobile app, a role on Discord and “priority support” when you get a response in the forums within a day, stuff that doesn’t really help, there are 12 keys at the top of a keyboard that are barely used for anything in the game or outside of it, and you can easily bind multiple cheats to one key or change the controls of the game, the only real benefit is a monthly boost you can give a game in the Queue, and even then you’re boost is up against thousands of other people who have a boost for other games

I don’t see a problem with requests being taken through a dedicated thread, has WeMod even tried it?

You can request games by following them in WeMod. The top followed games are then added to the queue and a trainer is created for them.
