Hi I just got a 360 it’s not new but it is in good conditions, the problem is that it doesn’t detect the hard drive. It’s the original internal hard drive. The person who sold it to me said he had to format it with pc but now the 360 doesn’t detect it. Can anyone help me out with this?
Is it Fat 32 format?
A friend of mine did that once with a with a hard drive from a phat model 360. It was no good afterwards, at least not as the main storage device on an Xbox 360.
The recent Xbox 360 dashboard update allows external hard drives up to 2TB to be used on 360s by way of plugging them into a USB port on it. If you can find the necessary connector(s) to turn it into a USB drive it will work again as an Xbox 360 storage device.
If you happen to have an old phat model Xbox 360 data transfer cable, and an old phat model hard drive laying around you could create one. You would take apart the phat hard drive and remove the connection cable inside, plug that into the transfer cable, and plug the other end into the hard drive. I’ve been using the same setup for a while to store a bunch of the Games with Gold games. I’ll leave some pics below.
From my understanding internal hard drives are still FATX, not FAT32. External drives connected to USB are FAT32.
yes it´s Fat32
