can you be more specific by what you mean with overlay? that can mean quite a few things

Ok so I have tried adding the file to WeMod but my file name was AoE2DE_s.exe
Once I did that I was as well getting the message
âThe game was launched outside of Steam. Attempting to restar and launch the game though Steam.â
I followed your steps by launching in Steam first and still the MODâs are not working.
Does it matter that I sign in with my XBOX sign in, ingame?. Does that break the MODâs?
No idea why they are not working. Its making sound that it is working but then following the go sound, it makes the failed sound.
turning Safe mod off, and they work. just a heads up.
Add the invulnerability cheat back.

No, I tried on Singleplayer Skirmish.
Have you tried launching the game initially and waiting until you can freely navigate within the game world before opening the mods by clicking PLAY on the WeMod app? If that doesnât work, try launching the game first, and once you are on the main menu, open the mods by clicking PLAY again.

I launched a skirmish match, then pressed play in WeMod, and that worked for me. Thanks!

what happened to the other mod options, I used to play the game in 2023 and I remember having many other options, most of them seems to be gone
If I am not mistaken, the game is updated frequently, and I donât know whether they made it harder to mod, have a more robust anti-cheat, but these are some of the only stable modifications.
