Baldur's Gate 3 Cheats and Trainer for Steam

Hello, I would like to ask if it is possible to add any items to the inventory because I missed them in the game.

also replying to Bason83:

There’s a mod available at NexusMods for this kind of thing: Add All Items at Baldur's Gate 3 Nexus - Mods and community

Careful about using it with on-going campaigns and be sure to check the requirements, and backup your saves before using any mods like that of course.

Can you please add an update for this please? BG3 updated their game and some of the cheats don’t work properly anymore.

Lately, when I’ve been trying to use the WeMod Cheats for Baldur Gate 3, for some unknown reason none of toggle OFF/ON key combos have been working. Does it have to do with the recently released Patch #3, or some other bug I missed?

I believe me and SkyEye06 are experiencing the same bug I think… The only way so far that the cheats have been working is that I have to tab out of game to manually click the ON/OFF buttons to make them activate.

So something strange all of a sudden. With Baldurs gate 3 all of sudden the stat boost doesn’t seem to work. Had been fine after latest patch’.
Some items keep turning off randomly like max companion.
I’m more concerned with stats. Any ideas?

So I did notice only one issue with this trainer now. With the items don’t decrease, when trying to split stacks of food and ingredients, some of them do not multiply like gold does. Not sure why, but I think the game has multiple IDs for the same items.

EX: I have 2 stacks of Mugwort (?). One will duplicate, and the other will not. If you try stacking them, they just swap places, like if you clicked a sword, and dropped it over a gem. Not sure why this is, but it’s the only thing not able to work with the cheats. The food (bags, equal max food per one) items seems to do this as well. Some random ones picked up are not the same as the rest. I would just get a couple that do duplicate, and max them out for a few stacks, and toss whatever doesn’t mix. Other than that, the trainer seems to be working just fine for me, and I have the latest update from Steam.

EDIT: Nevermind about the randoms, that is still a “Dev issue”, but I see you need to have at least THREE items in a stack in order to duplicate them, not just 2.

Hello, I can’t seem able to edit Shadowheart carac anymore using “Edit last selected char”. Karlach on the other hand seems fine. I see other “random” issues, is it linked with the last big patch?

Which set of stats cheats are you using? If you use the second set (I believe it’s called edit playable), you just have to select one person, making sure the cheats are OFF (= 0), and then turn them on to what stats you want to increase it to, and then select Shadowheart, save the game, and then load this save you just made, and her stats will be set to whatever you set it at. I personally just set only my custom to max, and leave the rest as they are, since I want to always start with my custom, and not whoever gets highest chance to attack first, but that’s my preference.

EDIT: Simplified, as I tend to ramble…sorry.

—> 1. Have stat cheats all off.
2. Click on someone other than Shadowheart.
3. Turn stat cheats to desired numbers.
4. Select Shadowheart
5. Save/reload game.

Shadowheart’s stats should be at set levels now. This method has worked 100% of the time for me, so if this doesn’t work, try it again, as you might have messed up a step.

As of 09/27/2023, all cheats seem to be working still. I tried all of them, with a heavily modded game as well, and they all worked as they did before. I am using the Steam version, latest update.

Only thing negative I would have to say is, and only because it bothers me personally, is that the XP cheats stay active, even if you turn them off, save/exit, and restart the game/WeMod. After doing all of this, when you come across another potential party member, they automatically max out after joinging the party. I would like to have them progress normally, but I like having my “main” chosen character maxed, for those tougher fights, or when I make a mistake, and make a whole camp angry  …Any way to accomplish this?

The “Items never decrease” cheat works intermittently. Whenever I try to stack items in my inventory sometimes the cheat works and sometimes it doesn’t.

This seems to be a normal behavior of the game’s system, not due to the cheats persisting.
All companions will scale up to match your main’s level when you first encounter them.
You could also recruit them early on/at low level, then dismiss them, and later they will be the original level they were recruited at.

@SkyEye06 That is because for some reason, Larion decided it wasa a good idea to add two different versions of the same items. Same reason why some items, like Mugwort always has two different stacks in your pouch, and they refuse to stack. They have two different IDs as well. Not the trainer’s fault. Blame that on the Devs.

@Obside0n Yeah, nothing to do about it. No matter when you get them, if you use the XP cheat at all, it maxes them all out. I just wish there was a way to make that work like the stats cheats do, so they only effect one character, but no big deal. Just dislike leveling up Shadowheart, then Astarion, then Gale, one after the other, since you get them in roughly 5-10 minutes of landing on the beach.

They level up to your level even WITHOUT the xp cheat. I was level 5 when I finally went back and got Wyll and Gale, they leveled up to 5 automatically. It’s in the game code not the trainer.

About Approval cheat, it works but it isn’t good to use.

It will max out approval and give you the bonuses for having high approval (I.E romance, easier persuasions) but the game won’t recognize that you like each other. For instance my approval was max but at the party everyone hated me as if we had base or negative approval.

Is anyone planning on updating the trainer? It’s currently only partially working, and the poor stat modifying needs to be reworked from the ground up. Stat modifying is clunky, and only works part of the time, and at the moments is totally broken.

All mods are working correctly. If you follow the instructions for modifying stats the mods work as expected.

Yeah, I know how to use the trainer. You’re wrong. The mods are not all working correctly. For further details please refer to my initial post.

The mod is working properly and will not be redone. Modding stats works 100% of the time if done correctly.

Yeah, except for the last week. But hey, what do I know? I’m only a user that has used this tool since EA.

I just tried it and adjusted Wyll’s stats, they work for me. I’ve used it since EA as well, and still works as it should.
