Hi! Try to reinstall the app again. Please follow the steps below:

-Uninstall via Add or Remove Programs.
-Find and remove any WeMod-related files from your PC.
-To ensure that WeMod has been completely removed, delete it from the AppData directory and Squirrel from the temp folder. The WeMod files are located here:
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeMod
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\SquirrelTemp
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\WeMod
-Restart your PC.
-Download the WeMod installer from here: https://api.wemod.com/client/download
-Run the installer as an administrator to give it the necessary permissions.

Did everything listed above, yet the problem still persist. been using this app for years when it was called infinity, even dabbled in horizon when the 360 was still big…never once had any issue like this one ever, very strange and most disappointing.

Gonna bite the bullet and reset my windows whole, it’ll most likely work then, i appreciate your time and help merry Christmas and happy new year.

Yes. This will make it work, but you’ll have to do these steps again if you shut down WeMod (i.e. your PC).

This has been a vicious circle for nearly 2 weeks:

  • Remove WeMod files/folders
  • Restart PC
  • Reinstall WeMod
  • Run & Use WeMod
  • Close WeMod
  • Rinse and repeat

WeMod will not install - #9 by Dutchylady Same topic.
Seems like some people have an issue ever since the update. And some havent.

I got it working again. Problem was between chair and keyboard and not with WeMod, nor due to a Windows update. It was because of a Norton 360 update. This update had cleared all the whitelisted apps. So I had to whitelist (in Norton 360: ‘Exclude from scans’) folders %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\WeMod and %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\WeMod again.

I had done a ‘clean’ reinstall (which ultimately had not been necessary) with the following steps:

  1. Removed %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\WeMod
  2. Removed %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\SquirrelTemp
  3. Removed %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\WeMod
  4. Removed all registry keys pointing to ‘WeMod’ (BACK UP THE REGISTRY FIRST!!!)
  5. Restart PC
  6. Run WeMod-Setup.exe
  7. Close WeMod (also in system tray)
  8. Exclude %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\WeMod and %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\WeMod from Antivirus scans
  9. Launch WeMod
  10. Profit

So I think removing the registry keys resolved the issue of the installation errors(?). See WeMod will not install

All the best wishes for 2025!
