Horizon | Using The Forza 4 Livery Tool

Using The Forza 4 Livery Mod Tool!

1.Move your Forza Car Setup/Design File from your HDD to a USB on your Xbox 360.

2.Plug in your USB to a Computer, and run Horizon.

3.The device explorer will show, and look like this:

4.Open up the ‘Games’ folder and go to ‘Forza Motorsport 4’ then click on ‘Car Setup Files’ or ‘Design Catalogue’ then click the mod button

5.The editor will open up and look like this:

6.Unlock whatever you want, or click the ‘Unlock All’ button!

7.Once you have done unlocking your livery click ‘Save’.

8.After you have Saved you can then unplug your HDD / USB from your computer and play with your new unlocked livery!

Hopefully this helped some of you understand how it works and how to mod it.

Notice: Speedcap is currently down. Gyazo has been used for now.
Sorry about any image errors.

Why do people use gyazo? That stupid piece of crap blows.

I tryed to use Speedcap but everytime it uploaded a pic it said it was too big so I just had to use Gyazo.

Sorry about any image errors.

what does this tool actually do like makes ur car go real fast ???

Lets say for example.

If you buy a design off the storefront and it is locked the livery tool will unlock it for you so it is no longer locked.

Thats what it does.

nice tut Influence i wish i could use it but i got banned

Thanks.

Also just to point out.
You probably got restricted from the tool.

Not ‘banned’.

Unless you have been banned from Horizon itself.

I changed the links from gyazo to IMGUR.

Just a note for idiots like me:- You MUST hit the RED save button on the tab at the top and NOT the save at the bottom of the window when you’ve finished unlocking  This will give a message saying the saves have been rehashed, resigned and written back to the device.

Might also be worth noting that after you’ve modified a livery/tune/vinyl Forza will ask you if you want to upload to your storefront after saving the changes. Obviously, the answer is NO!!!

If you do this, it works PERFECTLY, and much better than its previous incarnation in another program. Many Thanks.

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out, except most people who use Horizon daily would know that, and its also in the post.

True. Sorry about the post, but your graphics weren’t displaying yesterday (bandwidth cap??), and I’m not a regular user of horizon as it just won’t run on my Win7 64-bit machine. GREAT to see the Livery/Vinyl Groups/Tunes unlocker working properly at last

im guessing that this v2.1.4.5: Forza 4 bugs fixed

so everything sould be working correctly now?

Yes, since the update all bugs to do with Forza 4 mod tools has been fixed.

Unless the one’s that haven’t yet been found.

if i unlock a design and tweak it and add some stuff and then save it to something else can i still get banned from the storefront

When I do this with the design catalog, it comes up that it unlocked the files and the window closes, it doesn’t even give me the option to click save? When I open it again it shows the files are unlocked, but when I go into the game, they are still locked.

Unlock All button courtisy of me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Good TuT. I’ll sum it up for some people;

  1. Open your save in Horizon either on your HDD or USB

  2. Go to Forza Motosport 4, then either Car Setups/Design Catelog/ Livery Groups and click Mod at the top with the blue BMW M5 as the picture

  3. Hit “Unlock All” then click the GREY save button. If an error pops up, just press OK. They will still be unlocked. Then hit the RED save button.

  4. Insert your save device and play Forza. All that you wanted unlocked should be unlocked. You may need to re-apply designs that were previously LOCKED because the applied designs are still LOCKED. So re-apply them for them to be unlocked.

well I keep having and issue when I try unlock a vinyl.

Have you tried to do it in ‘Safe Mode’ yet?

Click the ‘Safe Mode’ button on the bottom right corner of Horizon then try modding it again.
